Trek OCLV - The World's Best Carbon Video
OCLV Mountain is a process of building a stronger carbon frame structure. We use it in nearly every carbon mountain bike.
It's the right material for the right application ? it increases damage tolerance at areas susceptible to impact from trail debris, without adding significant weight.

Damn right.? Don't ...
Damn right.? Don't play this marketing tricks with cyclists: many of them are smart (it's not soccer).
I love the fourth test, where they put a layer of rubber on top of the tube so nobody can see what's happening inside. Just the calm voice that tells us that there is no problem.

Marketing is all ...
Marketing is all around. What TREK is doing here is to denigrate the Al frame which is a leader material in MTB industry since decades. So what I understand is that Al is not good anymore, Al is junk, it cracks under rocks blow, so everyone throw away the Al bike and buy our Carbon frame which is? "very affordable".
The Al will steal beat CR for many years to come for sure. At the moment it is only for weight weenies and sponsored riders.

this is thicker ...
this is thicker than an aluminum can, and this is not the same concept.? the can stays strong under compression. that bar is not a vertical bar. it is horizontal and infront of the seat. it would face almost no compressing force. you've obviously never owned an aluminum bike.

if theres cosmetic damage, well that? means itsa not as good as new!

Go stand on an empty coke can. You can,? because it's a cylinder.

stupid 1st he used ...
stupid 1st he used 0 degrees carbon direction...ofcourse its going to crack cos its only the resin matrix that is taking? the force.
secondly on the third test the stress is NOT only cosmetics, there are micro cracks and they increase by time.
its the wrong type of resin they used pluse its the wrong laminate direction combinations to use

yes. the small dent in the aluminum frame rendered it unrideable. sounds legit to me. also, apparently rocks fly upward? from trails with the strength of highspeed anvils.

Classic, either great minds thing alike or retards laugh at the same simplistic nonsense.
I'm a retired biology professor so I'd have to conceed the former is more likely.
